Who We Are and What We Do

Pressman and Associates, Inc., located in Clearwater, St. Petersburg and Tampa, Florida, is led by its owner and President, Todd Pressman. Pressman & Associates, Inc. works in three basic areas of Governmental Affairs. One, land use based/zoning issues. Two, city and county Lobbying for representing industry wide concerns. Three, interfacing with elected and appointed officials at the City and County and State levels on varied administrative governmental issues. Efforts of Pressman and Associates, Inc., and Todd Pressman also include political campaign consulting and working to support, raise funds for and maintain candidate and incumbent contacts and relationships.

Pressman and Associates, Inc. has been active with these issues for approximately 20 years. The work of the firm is primarily throughout the entire Tampa Bay region, but at times will extend to South Florida as well as the entire State of Florida. The firm has also been active with land use and zoning type issues throughout the United States, including Texas, Virginia, New York, Georgia, Alabama, Kansas and North Carolina.

Land use issues have been a backbone issue for the firm. These types of issues will include all types of variances, re-zonings, DRI’s, traffic lights, signage, conditional uses, special uses, median openings, vestings, non-conforming uses or grandfathering issues, site plan reviews, permits, expediting permits and projects, code enforcement, Land Use Amendments, FDOT, EPC, DEP and any other type of land use issue or concern. Todd Pressman, through the firm, maintains a top level of passage of these issues.

The lobbying activity of the firm is accomplished by providing excellent research, excellent presentation skills and maintain outstanding contacts and relationships and support of decision makers (elected, appointed and staff members). These issues will involve a variety of issues from construction or procurement project bids…RFP’s or RFQ’s…to industry wide representation currently including billboards, fireworks or major engineering firms with vast interests with County business and public works projects.

Todd Pressman maintains an active interface and communication with a wide variety of governmental decision makers and works to provide communication, insight and strategy to facilitate solutions at the elected or administrative positions to solve unique and singular type issues.

Todd Pressman stays very active and involved in working personally and supporting candidates and incumbents throughout the election seasons.

Todd Pressman has also served (and currently serves) on a number of land use and zoning type public boards, including currently serving as the Chairman of the Southwest Florida Water Management District’s Governing Board. These Boards include:

1) Chairman, Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board. Todd Pressman was appointed by the Governor Jeb Bush and approved by the State Senate. Todd Pressman has also served as Chairman of the District’s Regulation Committee, Chairman of the Land Resources committee and the Outreach and Planning Committee. Pressman also served as the District Governing Board’s Vice-Chairman and Secretary.

Re-appointed by Governor Charlie Crist and approved by State Senate to Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board.

2) Board member, Southwest Florida Water Management District Governing Board. Todd Pressman was appointed by the Governor Jeb Bush and approved by the State Senate.

3) Co-Chair, Pinellas-Anclote Basin Board Todd Pressman was appointed by the Governor Jeb Bush and approved by the State Senate.

4) Board member, Tampa Bay Regional Planning Council. Todd Pressman was appointed by the Governor Jeb Bush and approved by the State Senate.

5) Hillsborough County Code Enforcement Board. Todd Pressman was appointed by the Hillsborough County Commission.

6) Leader, 5 to 1 Zoning Task Force. Todd Pressman developed and led a County wide effort to reverse oppressive and unfair zoning restrictions throughout East and South Hillsborough County.

7) U.S. 19 Task Force. Appointed and worked with State Senator Jack Latvala on making recommendations to improve and reshape U.S. Highway 19.
